Jenna's first single is being currently produced by Nile Rodgers, scheduled for release in August 2004. Her music is compared to a female "Maroon 5" - great pop/rock with the vocal strength of a modern day Pat Benetar. With over a 3-octave vocal range, singer/songwriter Jenna Drey soars over pop melodies with the sensual, yet silky voice which has been compared to only the greatest female singers. From the early age of 8, Jenna, the daughter of actress Margo Teele, desired to devote her vocation to music and voice. In 1995, she was accepted to attend the New England Conservatory of Music during college, where she studied piano and music composition. During these years in Boston, Jenna played in local bands to gain performance experience. She was discovered in Boston by the co-founder of the "New Kids on the Block ," Jeff Furst, who then became her manager and promoter. Jenna performed in upscale venues, such as "Schuller's " in Boston, and in the process met to work with David Frangioni who was the staff engineer for Aerosmith at the time. Jenna decided to part ways with Jeff Furst after disagreements arose in the direction Jenna wanted to take with her music. Jeff was pushing Jenna to pursue becoming a contemporary country artist. Jenna wanted a career in pop. She re-located to Miami, Florida in 1999. In Miami, she continued writing, have opportunities to co-write with the likes of Grammy winning producer Juan Zambrano and Kevin Churko. Jenna began posting songs on Broadjam in May 2003. There, her song "Why Should I Believe You" charted at #1 on the pop charts. In Nov 2003, Jenna won Grand Prize for best song in the 2003 Dallas Songwriters Association national contest. On 11/25/03, it was announced she also placed as a top 10 finalist in the most prestigious USA Songwriting Competition, competing against more than 30,000 entries worldwide and against top songwriters. Then in Dec 2003, Jenna submitted her work through TAXI which was forwarded to Emanon Records, and strong Indie label distributed by Universal. Then in Jan 2004, Jenna also won first place in the January VH-1 sponsored “Song of the Year” contest. Jenna had won all four song-writing contests entered, better yet, each contest won with a different song. These wins only helped to seal the recording contract which was signed in March 2004. Her first single is scheduled for release in July 2004, which is being produced by the legendary Nile Rodgers. * 1st Place NMM Songwriting Contest for the song, "Smile & Wish You Well." *Grammy award winning producer, Juan Zambrano, produces and co-writes with Jenna in 2002. * DMX Satellite Radio adds Jenna to rotation airplay in 2002. * French TV music host celebrity, Charlie Nestor, agrees to shop project in Europe for release of single, "Don't." *Currently working on full album production with Kevin Churko, programmer and engineer for Mutt Lange. * Grand Prize for best song out of all categories in 2003 Dallas Songwriting Contest for "Stand In Line." * Top Ten Finalist in the prestigious 2003 USA SONGWRITING COMPETITION for "Why Should I Believe You." There were over 30,000 entries competing against top songwriters worldwide. * First Place 2004 winner in January VH-1 sponsored "Song of the Year" contest for song, "Say Goodbye To Loneliness." * Song, "Why Should I Believe You" charts at #1 on Broadjam during the summer of 2004.
